Wynn Carter - Catwalk Captain

“I can’t quite put into words what Maggie’s means to me……but I’ll try!

Maggie’s was a light at the end of the tunnel, when everything else felt so dark!

It was the welcome I felt when I didn’t have the words to explain how I was feeling; but somehow everyone knew and understood.

I’m grateful for this safe haven which is always there!

Being a part of MOTR was the best feeling ever.

Now, as a catwalk captain seeing our wonderful 2021 models enjoy this experience is the best medicine ever! ”

“I am honoured to once again be raising money for such a worthwhile charity.

Maggie's was there for me when I needed their support and advice.

There was always a friendly face ready to hand me a lovely cuppa and a slice of cake xx”

“When I was asked to do MOTR 2021 I had no hesitation at all.

Maggie’s is my family.

They became part of my life following my initial diagnosis and have been there for me ever since.

I have made lifelong friends at Maggie’s, which is a truly unique haven.

Maggie’s offers a calm, tranquil and delightful space to relax, recuperate and escape from the stress of cancer and treatment.

You are in for a treat. Enjoy the show!”

“It’s great to be with some of the old gang again.

Despite the fact that each model has had or is dealing with cancer; the atmosphere and genuine care, concern and love at Maggie’s is electric.

Knowing we are raising money for such an amazing cause whilst supporting each other, building confidence and forming new friendships is the best feeling you can have.”

“MOTR 2018 was an amazing event in which I shared the catwalk with nine awesome firefighters and nine 9 Hot Flushes models.

I feel ecstatic and truly honoured to be selected for this year's outstanding show along with some other 2016 and 2018 models.

It is always a pleasure to help and give back to my favourite charity; which has helped me so much over the years x”

“Maggie’s definitely gave me a much needed peaceful place to rest and think after my chemo and operation.

It’s my home away from home and my go to charity.”

During lockdown I baked and donated my culinary creations to help Maggie’s.

I’m delighted to see our new 2021 models and very happy to be back working with my MOTR 2018 family Again.”

“I was super excited to be given the opportunity to help the 2021 models have an amazing time on their catwalks this year.

I was then delighted to be chosen to return to the catwalk as a Rocketeers’ model.

I am absolutely thrilled to be able to enjoy a second time on the catwalk with the amazing friends I made back in 2018; whilst also raising much needed funds for Maggie’s.

Being in Maggie’s calm and reassuring environment helps me to accept and cope. I literally breathe a sigh of relief as I walk through the doors.

Thank you to everyone involved for this wonderful opportunity xx”

“Discovering Maggie’s in 2016 was an absolute godsend after being diagnosed with cancer in 2012.

It was an amazing privilege to take part in the 2018 runway event and I’m extremely grateful that I was invited back again this year.”

“Friendships have been made that will last forever.  I’m really looking forward to meeting with both new and old friends very soon.  Dancing, prancing, singing and looking glam won’t be too difficult after everything else.”

“I wanted to be a model for MOTR21 as I needed a "pick me up" after a difficult year. I knew it would allow me to engage with a positive group of people, have fun and give me a focus. It has given me my confidence back and I can't wait to create more happy memories for my family.”

“Maggie’s on the Runway gave me back my sparkle.

Taking part in MOTR 2018 was a magical experience; so when the invitation came to return in 2021 I didn't need to think twice.

I'm honoured to help and encourage the 'new models' find their catwalk confidence and very proud to reunite with my very special Maggie's friends on our special 2016/2018 reunion catwalk.

In addition to raising awareness of Maggie’s Manchester and generating much needed funds; MOTR also raises the confidence and increases the self-esteem of all those taking part whilst nurturing lasting new friendships.”
