MR RICK ASTLEY

Following his recent sell-out UK tour iconic singer, songwriter, producer and performer Rick Astley is literally “flying” back to Manchester in June to support Maggie's on the Runway.

One of the music industry’s most distinctive voices, Rick Astley has left an indelible mark on pop-culture since his emergence into the limelight nearly three decades ago. With well over 40 million records sold, and an enviable back-catalogue of chart-topping hits, Rick remains one of the most successful solo artists to have emerged from these isles, holding the distinction of being the first male solo artist to see his  first eight singles reach the top ten.

 To support us Rick, will be taking time out from his sell-out concert tour to promote his new album, “50”  inspired by his landmark birthday .– he turned 50 in February .

Released by BMGon 17th June,  “50” is a blockbuster return to his musical roots, as Astley’s distinctive, soulful vocals meld with Gospel influences in a self-penned album that draws from his life and inspirations.

Around twelve models, will have the privilege of strutting their stuff on the catwalk to Rick's amazing tones at our Afternoon  Fashion Show and in the evening he will return to perform at at our glitzy black tie gala ball.

Our Host for the Afternoon Fashion Show will be no other than the lovely Darren Parks from Smooth Radio. Darren presents the Breakfast Show every weekday morning from 6am.  Darren's great personality and charm will ensure we are in for a fabulous afternoon.

TED ROBBINS - GALA BALL

Ted Robbins, one of the UK's hardest working and best loved comic actors will host our Evening Gala Ball.  Ted is best known for his role as villain Den Perry alongside Peter Kay in Phoenix Nights and more recently as Brendan Finch in Coronation St.

Ted recently made the headlines when he collapsed on stage during the recent Pheonix Nigts Tour in Manchester.  he is now back fighting fit and will make sure that our Gala Ball will be a night to remember.

MANCHESTER CAMERATA ORCHESTRA

Manchester Camerata is "Probably Britain's most adventurous orchestra" ( The Times). Founded in1972, the orchestra is home to some of the finest musicians in the world and uses music in most innovative ways to redefine what an orchestra can do.  Always looking for new ways to bring audiences an participants even closer to music, they will pop up in all sorts of venues, from grand concert halls to nightclubs and collaberate with diverse artists - from classical legends such as Martha Argerich to iconic bands such as New Order.  Their recent Hacienda Classical Concert at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall sold out on both evenings.

Musicians from the orchestra will be appearing at our event.
